It is not known for sure why the Heart O'Chicago Motel was built in Ridge rather than Lincoln Avenue where most of the 1950s vintage motels on the north side of Chicago are located. But general manager Scott DeGraf is happy for his location. "We're not on the track," he says. "We do not want to be in the strip. There are lots of drugs and prostitutes and all that."
